Chapter 768: Prologue: Shout My Name
◇
Two warriors faced each other.
The warriors were looking at one another.
The warriors were looking at the exact same thing.
The warriors each harbored completely different thoughts.
The root of conflict is just that simple. No matter how much one champions and aspires to peace...... as long as there is an "I", a "you", and "others", opinions will clash, and conflict will arise.
If there was but one point of difference...... it was that the two, having fully demonstrated an understanding of the other's claims, were still fighting for the sake of an unyielding conviction.
"............"
On one side stood a heavy, pitch-black armored knight entirely devoid of exposed skin, readying a giant mace as tall as he was.
"............"
On the other side stood a grotesque skeletal warrior, half-naked with over half his body exposed to the open air, yet clad in dragon bone and readying a sword overflowing with hellfire.
"You have no intention of changing your opinion, comrade-in-arms......"
"......Unfortunately, on this matter alone... I do not!"
An exchange of ultimatums. The two, who perhaps could have become the best of friends, suppressed their painfully mutual empathy and readied their weapons anew.
The spectators watching the scene with bated breath let out a stir.
Amidst the countless clashes that had taken place, shadows appeared as if to boast of the great deeds of the two warriors.
At this very moment, they roared at the phantoms shimmering behind their adversary, as if claiming that they were the more difficult and grander trial.
On one side, a grotesque four-legged dragon—with a pitch-black frame so dark the details of its body were indistinguishable, and a surface far too smooth to be called the functional beauty of a living creature... as if perfect straight lines and curves drawn with a tool were simply moving as an organism in a streamlined form—twisted its giant body and spread impossibly massive wings.
On the other side, a bipedal dragon of deadly metal and unyielding mettle—whose body was mostly composed of blades, murder weapons, and martial armaments... what could be called an anomaly of providence, naturally equipped with the "Forging" and "Polishing" that should never be attained simply by being born—stood as a phantom amidst roaring, blazing flames, making its bladed scales bristle.
"If I win...... I'll have your cooperation, compatriot!"
"No hard feelings even if you lose; prepare to abandon your lingering regrets...... comrade-in-arms!"
Fate can only end through a decisive conclusion. Over a single woman, two warriors clashed. Staking their souls...... the names they shouted were,
"Dragon Soul Unbound......"
"True Legend Unbound Flame......"
The true names of the great dragons.
"───【Gulliver】!!"
"───【Tomahawk】!!"
