Chapter 888: December 20th: No Time to Catch a Breath, Gasping for Air
Author's Preface
Answering a dare I arbitrarily brought upon myself, I am taking on the challenge of daily updates───!
【Blacksmith Job】 Blacksmith General Part.694 【Weapons & Armor】
625: Omuretsu
I honestly want Tsuchinoko-san to apologize to us at this point.
626: Nessie
Aaghhh〜〜〜〜〜! Getting hit with information about a post-added blade-refining weapon while we're going crazy trying to reproduce the Re-Legacy weapons is boiling my braaaain!!!!!
627: Kenzou
Sucking up materials to form a blade... Even so, this doesn't feel like a Blacksmith skill issue, he must be using some seriously crazy materials.
628: Haricotton
Seriously, what is up with that cloth!? I haven't even seen a material on the New Continent that changes shape via voice authentication and exhibits complete resistance to slashing and piercing!
The closest thing in my memory in terms of properties is slug skin!!
629: Torimomo
No, but it pisses me off how that Pasta weapon looks like it belongs to a master when used so coolly in actual combat...
630: Sagasaki
More importantly, I'm so jealous of that NPC Tsuchinoko-san has who can freely use Uncharted Territory materials.
I want to do trial and error with crazy huge resource materials tooooo!!
631: Chapack
I can sort of accept the headgear and accessories as 'just being like that', but I can't shake the feeling that the weapon is reproducible, so the lingering attachments are-re-re...
632: Haricotton
Isn't it the regenerative power of the material itself? Assuming that's the case, by what theory does it return to its original shape? Like, maybe there's a giant ball of yarn attached somewhere, and when a thread breaks, it replenishes from there?
633: Craft Shell
Well, he didn't have a giant furball attached to his back, at least.
634: Imron
Yo. I totally thought there'd be a panic the moment that weapon appeared, and sure enough, here we are.
635: Elysion Haute-Couture
>>628
Unfortunately, it's not a monster material.
636: Nessie
Seriously, what is that sword!? Design-wise, is it a scorpion!? Is it another scorpion!?
637: Zamper
Actually, I'm curious about Garunose's armor too. Isn't it incredibly well-made? It has that feeling of careful, meticulous craftsmanship.
638: Sagasaki
Uwaah! Big names!!
639: Elysion Haute-Couture
That cloth is jewel cloth, processed by the hands of a Jeweler. Processing it was a struggle, but thanks to the support of my patron, it turned out to be a magnificent piece of work.
640: Chapack
You've appeared, Imron!
641: Haricotton
Haaaahーーーーーーーー?????
Jewel cloth is way too OP of a material! Do you have any leftovers, even just a scrap!?
642: Hoteram
Did Imron make that?
643: Torimomo
By the way, what the hell are those accessories...
644: Imron
Info sharing.
・According to the man himself, Tsuchinoko-san's sword is made from Exordinary Monster materials.
・But I know for a fact that it's a seriously dangerous item.
・To give you an idea of how dangerous, it uses materials acquired by Tsuchinoko-san coming out of nowhere and speed-clearing a quest I'm currently struggling greatly with by giving an incomprehensible answer.
・The craziest part is that the sword is reproducible.
645: Kenzou
Jewel cloth... so basically, you can process it into armor while retaining the properties of the jewel?
It's not just a 'similar effect' applied, but the 100% pure undiluted effect applies? Isn't that insanely crazy?
646: Holodomino
Are you kidding me, that ultra-absurd mechanism of sucking up Amursidian Quartz to form a blade is mass-producible?
647: Shichinan Hassaku
Actually, considering that appearance as an Exordinary, it's got to be a Crystal Scorpion Exordinary, right?
I saw one when I charged the cliff for ores. A golden one that was clearly a special variant.
648: Haricotton
Um, Elysion-san, I'm literally begging you, if you have any leftover jewel cloth, could you spare some?
649: Elysion Haute-Couture
If you'll make a maid outfit for me.
650: Chapack
>>647
That was probably just a "normal" Golden Scorpion.
651: Imron
>>647
It's an even more special variant of the Golden Scorpion. Apparently, he spent an entire night soloing it.
The most alien thing about him isn't the solo kill itself, but how casually he drops lines like "I spent the whole night fighting it."
652: Haricotton
What about a butler suit...! Is a butler suit no good...!!
653: Zamper
I wannnnnt a patron with deep pockets tooooooo
654: Hoteram
You'd think if it takes a whole night he should just gather more people, but the merit of monopolizing the materials is huge, huh.
655: Elysion Haute-Couture
>>652
I only accept maid outfits.
656: Imron
A patron who hands over materials with a blank check, that's way too fictional.
657: Ramram
I haven't grasped the situation at all, but isn't this turning into a massive festival?
658: Craft Shell
Tsuchinoko's new weapon rush made the weapon faction bomb out, and right before that the accessory faction bombed, but the very first ones to bomb were the apparel-leaning armor faction.
659: Ramram
It's a barren wasteland now.
660: Haricotton
Daaaammiiiiiit! I'll make a maid outfit...
661: Chou-Goukon
Failing to exchange friend requests with Tsuchinoko-san is truly the greatest blunder of my life... Why... why was I so absorbed in licking the Amursidian Quartz back then...!!
662: Imron
Now that the material fetishist is here, it's finally turning into chaos.
As expected, that guy is basically nitro for crafters.
Author's Afterword
For the Blacksmith BBS, the most despair-inducing thing is being told 'That weapon is reproducible just by requiring endgame content materials, so it's theoretically mass-producible.' And since they were told exactly that, they are despairing.
Due to ShanFro's game system, if you specialize to master a crafting job, you inevitably end up moving away from the frontlines of endgame content conquest. Because of this, patrons who hunt those things for you are important. However, the leading figure of that trend is a hermit who also happens to have an exclusive NPC blacksmith, which is why it's an Avici hell of agonizing cries.
The manga version of Shangri-La Frontier goes on sale on October 17th!
The cover features Sylvia. And the content is, of course, the GGC Arc. Come to think of it, writing the GGC Arc was a long time ago, but I clearly remember that I was incredibly fired up writing it, and more than that, I was surprised by the response exceeding my expectations.
At the time, it was a dynamic detour I started while thinking, 'Is it really okay to make this kind of unrelated detour? But it looks like it'll be fun if I do...' Looking back, I guess that's what established the detours into games other than ShanFro.
Setting that aside, the anime also starts on the 1st. Naturally, it covers events even before the GGC, being an adaptation from Episode 1, and that scene and this scene will move! They will move! And they will talk! Is it really less than a week until that anime? It seems to be real, everyone.
