Chapter 824: December 17th: Blazing Beat Up Part 7

In the past, it bestrode mountains and rivers, stepping firmly upon the earth... back then, as a giant caterpillar.

But after stars had turned and frost had fallen countless times, the Smoldering Great Crimson Wings, having been permitted to fight solely for its own sake, decided to change its aesthetic slightly.

The Smoldering Great Crimson Wings is an entity belonging to the "Red," not one belonging to "Fire".

It was a Great Red Divine Bug—an entity that perhaps might have become a "Red God" itself—permitted to wield all forms of "power."

With vision residing within its flames, the Great Crimson Wings recognized that the entities swarming before it......... the ones with lanky limbs similar to the beings it once trampled, were obtaining the flow of mana possible precisely because they possessed "that shape."

Even after regaining its ego, amidst its sparse consciousness, an inorganic thought read the root of its discomfort, the very bottom of the bottom of the earth.

──────.

There was no human-like emotion in it. None...... but.

If one were to forcefully translate it so that humans could understand, the Smoldering Great Crimson Wings thought, "I understand."

"Something's weird!"

"It curled up its wings......?"

The concept of "storing" energy did not exist for the Smoldering Great Crimson Wings. Because no matter how much it wasted, the lost energy was immediately compensated through production.

That is why that curled-up form...... that "chrysalis" would not take long to hatch.

"BBBBBBBBB........."

With a fwump, the flames swelled.

Not knowing what it was but realizing they couldn't let it act, spells and heat-eating warheads struck it, but due to two reasons—the world's lore and game mechanics—the attacks had no effect.

The sphere of flame swelled up, and a single vertical line appeared on the sphere, which had expanded to about ten meters in diameter. The players showed caution, wondering if it was going to split open like a kusudama party ball, but......... Incorrect. The sphere of flame certainly split in two, but it was not divided.

Next, it split horizontally; thus 2 became 4. It split further, 4 became 8. Splitting, splitting, splitting...... 16, 32, 64......... thousands, tens of thousands. Even while reducing the size of each individual piece, the total mass was rather expanding even further, and it began to change shape.

Seeing this, who was the one to realize it? Hearing a single quiet murmur from behind him, OiKatzo realized that it was Pepper Cardamom who had arrived at the correct answer.

"Cellular division.........?"

───The mass of scorching heat had reached a conclusion with extremely calmcool thinking.

Assuming it were to create a large body, imitating their appearance exactly would create problems. In that case, the body it produced should stand firm on the ground with four limbs, heightening its stability.

Brimming energy fattened the limbs. There was no need to train or hone them, for the Great Crimson Wings was a being richer than anyone or anything simply by existing. If it lacked physical strength, it didn't need to train; it only needed to increase it. If it lacked durability, it didn't need to endure; it only needed to increase it.

The Supreme RedPrime Red, permitted to squander without end what even gods would envy. The Original RedPrimal Red, which obeyed the White God's request not out of defeat, but in response to its plea.

"This is......!!"

The earth shook. Plump fingers gripped the ground.

The mountain shook. It stepped firmly upon the earth not with the soles of its feet, but with its knees.

It looked around, shaking its neck......... and realized it had forgotten to grow vision. Wings bloomed like petals on its faceless head. There is no human who doesn't know that shape; even the Second Humanity born in test tubes possess it as knowledge, as it is the grand premise of life known as HumanityHumans.

On the surface of the butterfly wings that bloomed on the faceless entity, a massive...... an impossibly massive "eye" surfaced.

Rolling its eye... its Scorching Eyeball with a slow, ominous shift as if to check its condition, the Great Crimson Wings glared down at those below as if saying, "Kept you waiting."

"BaaaaaBuuuuuuuuu.........!"

An infant. A massive infant. An infant with the face of a butterfly. A great, greatgigantic, greatmighty "crimson" child.

"Diiiiiiiii.........sgusting!?"

"No, how big is......... It's bigger than my apartment!?"

"Its feet are reaching the foot of the mountain......!?"

The infant moved. It placed one hand on the rim of the crater and reached the other toward the heavens. A massive hand that looked like it could snatch even the moon was raised to the heavens in an open palm. However, the witnesses noticed something about the massive infant emitting a red glow.

"There's some kind of light in its hand........."

Wait a second, OiKatzo muttered. The light dwelling in the infant's palm. He saw the blue glow that seemed to deny its reason for existence as the Genesis Tribe of the 'Red'—however, the reason OiKatzo's caution spiked to the maximum wasn't the color itself, but the way it glowed.

"Is that... could it be a skill effect......!? Everyone, run─────"

Run......... where to?

The "hand" of the Smoldering Great Crimson Wings was slammed down onto the Dead Crater Lake of Rise and Fall......... causing a massive quake.

Author's Afterword

・Primal Revolve

Tribe (眷族) and Kin (眷属). Both factions possess this ability, and while the words are homonyms (Kenzoku), they use different kanji and their meanings are completely different.

If the ability of those belonging to Erebos is an effect that "strengthens them further by connecting to their original main body," then the Primal Revolve of the Tribe belonging to Aether is, in essence, a temporary escape from God's control, a reclamation of the form and power they once possessed.

However, this is not an "obligation"; there is nothing wrong with using that reclaimed power to show off their former strength.

But they can also find "something even further beyond that," right?
