Chapter 708: Tome of Truth "The Reverberating Nether"...... Canon
The appropriate number of players for conquering the Orchestra of the Reverberating Nether is "1".
Furthermore, due to the nature of the battle, it is recommended to possess weapons that have been used in the past or belong to the same weapon category.
Conquering the Orchestra of the Reverberating Nether: Canon Version
Because the Tome of Truth extracted this time is based on the walkthrough of the player "Sunraku", there are some one-of-a-kind descriptions present.
The Orchestra of the Reverberating Nether is a combat-oriented theatrical play composed of five battles in total: the First, Second, Third, Fourth Movements, and the Final Movement. In almost all of them, the victory condition is not simply the total depletion of resources.
First Movement "The Sleeping Orphan"
───The cradle is a battlefield, the birth cry is obscured by the fires of war, yet the infant cries out alone on the battlefield......
───I am here, I am here. Take flight, pull the hammer, the child raises a gun and wails......
───Slipping out to the castle, slipping through the cannons, piercing through the light, the youth confronts the warrior......
───A wide world, a narrow battlefield. The lone warrior falls to the earth. With a distant tortoise at their back, what defeats the warrior is red, what strikes the warrior are fists......
Battle against FM's Chrysalis "War Orphan".
Victory conditions are:
・Defeat a certain number of the simultaneously spawning Armilet Gargantulas.
・Use the item "Violent Blood Crimson-Clad Skull Crown".
・Shoot it down using the Non-Standard Tactical Tortoise 【Genbu】 or a heavy attack from a Tactical Mech.
・Fulfill the above conditions and defeat it using melee-type skills.
Second Movement "The Twin Shining Great Crowns"
───The Great Crown raised high. Azure in the morning sun, crimson in the night......
───The resplendent jewels are eccentric and strict......
───Running through the territory of brilliance is strictly forbidden. Not even light is permitted to step foot inside......
───Dodging light, repelling light, faster than light......
───Only those who take that single step forward will grasp glory......
Battle against the Alexand Scorpion.
Victory conditions are:
・Evade the reflective light attacks a certain number of times.
・Cause the Alexand Scorpion to change colors a certain number of times.
・Fulfill the above conditions and defeat it with a continuous assault exceeding a certain speed threshold.
Third Movement "The Tombguard Rests"
───The tombguard, out of love, looks away...... The hero, gazes fixed, upon the blade......
───The wind mows down the clouds, the mountains and seas rage to the thunder. The one who severs the curtain of ash is the one who conquers the heavens......
───Withered and decayed, yet an inextinguishable conviction. The void of love sworn for eternity is struck by moonlight......
───And so, the tombguard, at last, for a long time, rests...... In that moment, whose face do they think of......
Battle against Wethermon the Tombguard.
Victory conditions are:
・Take 5 hits or less.
・Fulfill the above condition and conquer the "Tensei" of the special skill "Seiten Taisei".
Fourth Movement "The Golden Sovereign of the Crystal Throne"
───That sovereign, awaits the enemy upon a throne of corpses......
───Wielding radiant imperial gold, they strike down the enemy......
───O Moon, O Light, witness the sovereign's sword dance......
───What tears the world apart, is the blade light of the moon......
───And yet, the crystal mirror of the deep nether-sea, reflects victory and severs the enemy......
Battle against the Golden Scorpion "Imperial Gold Generation".
Victory conditions are:
・Destroy the "Holy Sword" tail section.
・Force it to transition into its "Enraged Moonlight Form".
・Reflect the special skill "Moon-Crumbling Flash".
・Fulfill the above conditions and defeat it via the damage from the reflection.
Final Movement: Canon "Song of the Migratory Bird"
In the Canon route, the player's reproduction is nothing more than a terminal of the "World" deployed by Orchestra. The crucial point in clearing the EX Scenario is fully depleting Orchestra's resources.
There is only one method to deplete Orchestra's resources: force the "Diva" to divert the resources she uses to maintain the world towards protecting the reproduction, thereby seizing the initiative of the "World". To do so, it is necessary to bring the Conquista Doll contracted to trigger the Unique Scenario EX into Orchestra's "Theater".
For example, a "Key" that supports the storage of a Conquista Doll, or a "Gate"—the highest tier of summoning and teleportation magic—is recommended.
If, hypothetically, one attempts the walkthrough without using a Conquista Doll, it is necessary to use an "Information Aggregate: ◯◯" that can be crafted inside the Bahamut.
The reproduction corresponding to the player "Sunraku" will experience crossed thoughts and lower its AI level if a Conquista Doll is brought inside.
It is impossible to directly defeat the reproduction at this stage, but when Orchestra diverts resources to defend the reproduction, its initiative over the "World" will be visibly whittled away.
When the "Theater of Envy" deployed by the "Diva" who manifested as Elise is suppressed by over 90% by the world deployed by the Conquista Doll, the Final Movement transitions into its second phase.
In the second phase, if the "N" Patch is installed, the "Diva" who manifested as Elise Jitterdoll will switch her persona to correspond to the Conquista Doll present. Because it was an Elma-type this time, Elma Sakishima will appear.
If a Conquista Doll is not present, the "Diva" will be strengthened based on the Information Aggregate.
The "Diva" manifesting as Elma will deploy the "World" once again while having seized back half of the initiative. The walkthrough method remains the same as the first phase, but the battle transitions to the final phase once 90% of the "World's" initiative is suppressed.
In the final phase, the world deployed by the "Diva" is consolidated purely into the elements that symbolize her, generating inside the world deployed by the Conquista Doll. This time, because Elma's "Highway Star" was reflected, it was output in the form of a highway and trucks deploying instantaneously and three-dimensionally.
Once it transitions to this phase, defenses for the reproduction are no longer provided. Defeating the reproduction completes the movements for the Orchestra of the Reverberating Nether.
Orchestra's Special Actions
The action patterns of Orchestra in the Canon route will experience slight fluctuations depending on the presence or absence of the Conquista Doll's "N" Patch.
If the "N" Patch is not installed, the "Diva" will not appear as Elma Sakishima, and the situation will proceed with her remaining as the "Diva" Elise. While there is no change to the final rewards themselves, the player will not reach the True Ending, placing limitations on the performance of the "Mask" reward.
If the "N" Patch is installed, it will proceed as described above, and the player will be teleported to the bar "Masquerade" after the battle ends.
In the bar "Masquerade", the final choice is presented. Picking up the "Mask" dropped on the floor treats the scenario as cleared, so by waiting a while, the "Diva" will appear. By presenting the truth to her, and then listening to her "Song", the True Ending is unlocked.
The Orchestra of the Reverberating Nether's Story Setting
The Orchestra of the Reverberating Nether is a multi-will crossing-type music terminal operated by three wills. Tracing its origins, it goes all the way back to a single music player manufactured even before humanity of the Divine Age discovered this planet, before they had even escaped from Earth—the "Pocket Aria Model G 10-82119".
The music player passed through the hands of many people—good men, evil men, the wise, the foolish, the elderly, children, men, women......... regardless of race or era, playing many songs. And so, when humanity arrived on Planet Utopia, the music player had come to house something akin to a "will". Whether that was manifested by the mana particles of Utopia, or born from some other providence...... there is no way to unravel that truth. However, as a matter of fact, the music player came to acquire something like the wills of the people who once owned it, and above all, it came to acquire the will of the music player itself.
Because the will of the person who ultimately became the final owner of such a music player—the creator of the Conquista Dolls, Andrew Jitterdoll (Details: See Behemoth)—remained the most deeply ingrained, Andrew's will to "pass on culture and music to the next generation of humanity", which should normally have blended in with the wills of countless others, became an independent part of Orchestra, forming one of the three wills that comprise it.
The wills of those who owned it from the very first person down to the one just before Andrew.
The will of Andrew Jitterdoll.
Standing alongside those, the "will" that forms the last of the three is not Elise Jitterdoll......... but the will of the single entity known as the music player "Pocket Aria Model G 10-82119".
Although it is a music player that underwent repeated modifications and repairs over a mind-boggling amount of time until not a single original part remained, its existence...... its existence as "someone's music player" managed to establish a single will over the course of those long years. The decisive factor in that was the song of Elise Jitterdoll.
It wanted to spread this song; it did not want this song to be lost as a thing of the past. That is why the "Diva" who serves as Orchestra's spokesperson takes the form of Elise Jitterdoll. Because of those origins, the actual will of Elise Jitterdoll herself does not exist within the "will" housed by Orchestra.
Unique Monsters are entities that ask questions, entities that stake their own existence to demand an answer.
The lineage of unspecified countless owners has ended, yet they ask to be shown the brilliance of humanity that continued nonetheless.
Andrew Jitterdoll seeks impressions of the "art" known as the Conquista Dolls.
And the small music player cries out, wanting people to understand the magnificence of the melody it plays and resonates.
While the wills left behind by people look toward the future, that single will that continues to uphold the diva of the past might very well be the greatest reason why Orchestra is considered a Unique Monster.
As a side note, players who reach endings other than the Canon True Ending (including Apocrypha) can challenge it again by returning their acquired rewards as a substitute for an invitation, although the difficulty will increase.
And players who have reached the True Ending can listen to Elise's song at the bar "Masquerade" at any time by entering while equipping their acquired Mask reward.
Author's Afterword
By the way, if you don't use a Conquista Doll, you have to gather information on one of the past owners inside the Bahamut and create an "Information Aggregate". Since the reproduction won't be weakened, it's insanely tedious, and on top of that, you won't reach the True Ending, so there's almost no point in doing it. In the first place, since you have to have a contract with a Conquista Doll just to challenge Orchestra, it's faster to find an "N" Patch and a Storage Key Inventoria or Chestoria than to create an Information Aggregate.
