Chapter 483: For Now, Inventoria

The gravity floor gimmick activates primarily under three types of conditions.

First is manual destruction by a player.

Second is being in a destroyed state right from the start.

And third is accidental destruction without any player involvement.

That bullshit rain earlier was a stage gimmick caused by the second condition, the third condition, or both. Without Isana's forecast, it's a genuine instant-death gimmick... but since we can actively interfere with it as well, the anti-gravity mechanism that makes you fall straight upwards functions as a powerful weapon, or rather, we can make it function as one.

Firearms obtained simply by kicking aside trash mobs; the key isn't the weapon category itself, but the fact that it's a high-firepower long-range weapon.

Reaching places out of reach is an advantage even a monkey could understand. And once you get somewhat used to it... it turns into this.

"Fuhahahaha!! What's wrong, what's wrong! Rubbing your cheeks against it won't make the wall move out of the way!"

Six bullet wounds on the wall surface; unleashing a repulsive force "falling" from left to right slams the clustered Techno-Magi-Gelus approaching us straight into the opposite wall.

The width is four meters; if they mechanically attack us, just standing near the wall makes them mirror our movements. Then all we have to do is randomly activate the wall to send them blowing away (falling) sideways.

"Whoops, dealing with them is getting annoying... Alright Saina! Araba! We're doing that!!"

"Query: That, refers to..."

Hahaha, my hand slipped and I fired a bullet into the floor right at my feet.

Come on, hurry hurry, carry your momentum and take a step forward, muster your courage!!

"Wha—"

"Aaaand far awaaay!!"

The gravity at our feet shifts from bottom to top, launching the bodies of the three of us standing on it into the air with a sensation like doing a handstand.

"Could you at least tell us beforehand?!"

"Query: Have you not learned from prior data? Is your Intelligence parameter insufficient?"

"Just watch."

Almost at the ground. Aiming the Aguacate at the ground, measuring timing... fire.

The small glow bursting from the muzzle is instantly wrapped in a brilliance halfway between white and yellow, tearing through the sky.

Upon impact, our bodies falling towards the runaway gravity floor rapidly attenuate their momentum. Makes sense, we don't have rocket engines on our asses... no matter how high we jump, gravity will eventually drag us back down to the ground.

"Let's shift up a gear, clearing speed is moving to the next stage."

"This is an even more indescribable feeling than when we swam through the air in Ruluiath..."

"Who cares, once we reach the next save point we're taking a break so look alive!!"

A full reload takes 150 MP; chugging potions to recover MP every single time is way too inefficient.

Exile Cloth doesn't charge mana without moonlight, and the Star Cloak of Lapistella can't be diverted for other uses.

But I have this; compared to the Aspiring Blades of the Hero (Duxram) days, it gained the ability to charge magic power at the cost of a laughable demerit like halving its durability, my good old Final Blade of Aspiration's End With the Hero (Eska=Wallach)!!

"Reloaded!!"

Slamming the pommel of Eska=Wallach against the butt of the Aguacate transfers the light from sword to gun.

This sword housing the great feat of slaying the Giant Centipede stores mana but lacks the function to release it as magic. Thus it isn't a magic sword... a subtly confusing category, but as long as I know it can store and return MP, there's no problem.

"Six shots... the max the sword can store is around 100 MP?"

Alright, let's keep moving!!

【Wolfgang】

Sunraku: Hypothetically speaking, if I said I was currently inside the Leviathan and got my hands on firearms, what would you do?

Pencil Knight King: Well, for starters, you should probably prostrate yourself before Her Majesty me since I'm currently being hounded from all directions for information disclosure because you went way too crazy during the Siegwurm battle.

Sunraku: It's practically half abduction and confinement, so you should be much nicer to me.

OiKatzo: It's a cannibalistic feast of fiends trying to pluck good intentions from others...

Sunraku: A completely flavorless bone lacking in both fat and lean meat is saying something over there.

Pencil Knight King: If you boil him down, you could probably get some decent soup stock out of him at least, right?

OiKatzo: I don't want to hear that from a lump of excess fat and an obese body.

Pencil Knight King: Say fatty one more time and I'll make sure you can never show your face on the public stage ever again.

OiKatzo: I'm sorry.

Sunraku: It looks like even my sister is going to get mobilized, so stop with the sabbath.

Sunraku: More importantly, is it really just us here?

Pencil Knight King: I mean, it is currently 3 AM, you know?

Sunraku: ...?

OiKatzo: It's the time when normal, honest folks are usually asleep.

Pencil Knight King: We're only overworking our brains, so as long as the physical body is resting, it's perfectly fine...

Sunraku: Getting told that by people who are actively wide awake is somewhat irritating, but whatever.

Pencil Knight King: Getting back on topic, an unspecified large number of people are cornering us over here, it's a total disaster〜.

Pencil Knight King: Akitsu Akane-chan's situation was even crazier.

OiKatzo: Yeah, we were working real hard on damage control, or rather, diverting the spearhead... Well, everyone thought she was just an eccentric joke character, so having super ninja arts suddenly come to light obviously leads to that.

Sunraku: Did she pull off something crazy?

Pencil Knight King: She combined with Noirlind.

Sunraku: ...Eh.

OiKatzo: A guy who gender-bent and turned into some red monster has absolutely zero right to be bewildered by that.

Sunraku: Silence, androgynous-faced amphibian.

OiKatzo: Oh, you wanna fight?

Pencil Knight King: More importantly, what's it like inside over there? What's the difficulty for acquiring firearms? Can we bulk buy them?

Sunraku: First Shell Layer... ah, the first area. The monsters appearing are around level 30, and killing them racks up points called 'Score' like EXP. You exchange it with that.

Sunraku: Because of restrictions, slaughtering trash mobs causes various repercussions, so bulk buying is impossible.

Pencil Knight King: You useless bum.

OiKatzo: Does entertainment devoured purely for yourself without contributing to the organization taste good?

Sunraku: It's delish!!!!!

OiKatzo: T-This guy...!

Sunraku: That aside, I can't go home until I clear the area, so it's actually pretty damn pressing.

Pencil Knight King: If it's nothing but trash mobs, then just hurry up and clear it already.

Sunraku: Hint: First "Shell" Layer.

OiKatzo: A continent-scale dungeon...?

Sunraku: I wanna go home.

Pencil Knight King: Realistically estimating, how long is it going to take to clear?

Sunraku: Man, it looks like this is going to eat up a whole week; thinking about a full completion is just a waste of time.

Sunraku: I'm currently saved at the second relay point, but...

Pencil Knight King: By the way, is there really no way for anyone besides you to get in? The guys testing it are saying they just get bounced right off even when they try to ride on the back of that continental whale.

Sunraku: Apparently it won't open up until I clear it.

Pencil Knight King: Seriously?

OiKatzo: How is that fair from a game balance perspective?

Sunraku: Ohoho, apparently it will open if I retire or fail to challenge it for a set period of time, but I have absolutely no intention of doing so!!

Pencil Knight King: Should we just capture him the moment he logs out and send him straight to the guillotine?

Sunraku: Hey stop that.

OiKatzo: Well, if you don't clear it quickly the aggro directed at you is going to reach insane levels, but I think we can buy time for a little while.

OiKatzo: Thanks to the massive influx of new races that appeared during the Siegwurm battle, plus the Conquista Dolls popping up out of nowhere, the frontline base is an absolute madhouse right now.

Pencil Knight King: To be specific, a massive mixer party?

Sunraku: It's kind of frustrating how fun things sound on your end too.

Sunraku: Meanwhile I'm currently shipwrecked and stranded while dragging around an acquainted merman and a doll.

Sunraku: Also the guide is a bit annoying.

OiKatzo: Is he bragging to us in a super roundabout way right now?

Pencil Knight King: More importantly, hey.

Sunraku: Hm?

Pencil Knight King: You can use Inventoria right now, right? I noticed those weird bottled items were increasing like crazy.

Sunraku: Yeah, I can use it normally... ah.

OiKatzo: We can literally just meet up normally inside ShanFro...

Sunraku: Should we send a nerf email to the devs? Inventoria really is just way too broken of an item.

Pencil Knight King: That kind of thing will eventually be resolved through the untiring efforts of the management, you two.

Pencil Knight King: Therefore, even if we thoroughly enjoy Inventoria in this exact moment, it's solely due to a lack of corporate effort on their part.

Sunraku: Conclusion.

Pencil Knight King: It's not exactly a cheat anyway, so using it isn't a problem! For now, everyone gather inside the storage space!!

Sunraku: Yeeeaaah.

OiKatzo: Yeeeaaah.

Author's Afterword

Inventoria Internal Item Situation
Sunraku: A massive amount of items periodically increases for some reason; way too many crystals.
OiKatzo: Weapons I stopped using are steadily piling up.
Pencilgon: T-That item is used for compounding poisons... w-who the hell is here at this hour? You, stop—
