Chapter 21: Chained Uniques
Well, I got fired up, but there's nothing I can do until the death penalty is lifted, and having the Vorpal Choppers on the verge of breaking isn't ideal.
Currently, these knives, which get a correction to critical damage, can be called my only firepower weapons. Now that I know weapon wear can be recovered, I want to recover them. So, I was supposed to have a rather early reunion with the blacksmith old man... but.
"Closed... you say...?"
No, it's not a convenience store, so it's not strange for it to close late at night... but as an NPC, is that okay?
Well, if he said "Welcome!" at an open-air stall in the middle of a storm, that would be troubling in its own way.
"In that case, repairs are on hold until morning..."
It's weird to say it myself, but I'm the type of person who isn't satisfied unless "the whole party is fully healed," and moving around with a broken weapon is... itchy. But it can't be helped; I have no choice but to put off repairing the Vorpal Choppers until the old man opens for business.
"Even though I raised my Luck, I have no luck............ Nnn!?"
Then, my thoughts were completely shut down by that which entered the edge of my vision as I casually looked around. If a third party had been watching me, it would have been a magnificent double-take. That's how smoothly and quickly my neck turned to face the foreign object that had entered my vision.
"............"
Beckon beckon.
Peeking out from a gap between buildings, a narrow back alley I wouldn't want to walk through by choice, and clearly beckoning only to me, was a bipedal rabbit I had seen enough to be sick of in a sense.
"Vorpal Bunny?"
No, but Vorpal Bunnies are bipedal rabbits with kitchen knives. The Vorpal Bunny (Tentative) sneaking and beckoning from the back alley now is different from the fully naked Vorpal Bunnies. It's wearing clothes that drift with a sense of luxury, a silk hat, a monocle, and a pocket watch... What was it again? I feel like I've seen it somewhere... Ah right, the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.
"Do monsters pop inside the town too?"
If so, isn't that pretty kusoge? If even towns are constant battlefields, you can't save with peace of mind. Anyway, if it's a Rare Enemy, maybe it'll drop something if I hunt it... The moment I took a step forward thinking that, a window suddenly opened in front of me.
[Do you wish to start the Unique Scenario "Invitation from the Rabbit Country"?]
"............!!!"
I cover my mouth, which was about to shout, with my hand and casually look around. Fortunately, the late-night hour, the current period where most players are concentrated further ahead or in Firstia, and the location in front of a closed weapon shop with no business all sided with me; no other players were present.
Unique Scenario.
The reason ShanFro is a God Game, and the element that ShanFro antis attack the most.
Spawn conditions unknown, acceptance conditions unknown, yet the benefits are maximum.
ShanFro's main story is "Pioneering the World," but countless side quests exist separately. Among them, Unique Scenarios are unknown scenarios where no one knows where, when, how, or who becomes the flag.
However, the equipment, skills, magic... obtained by clearing Unique Scenarios all boast first-class performance, and there seem to be clans dedicated solely to searching for Unique Scenarios.
...Well, this is content I heard from other players while playing trash games as a prelude to the topic "Compared to that, this game is..."
"Is this what they call 'Saiou get Uma' (A blessing in disguise)...?"
Having two equipment slots crushed by that Black Wolf was a rather unfortunate incident, but encountering a Unique Scenario is the utmost good luck. If I consider two equipment slots as the condition for a Unique Scenario, my motivation, which had withered slightly, skyrockets... well, maybe not that much, but it recovers.
Fortunately, even if the Vorpal Choppers are breaking, I have spare ammo (Goblin Hand Axes) and the Marsh Daggers are almost intact.
"Alright, Unique Scenario conquest until morning!"
Happily pressing "Yes" to start the scenario, looking back, I was probably still giddy from the chain of discovering a Unique Scenario after encountering Lycaon the Night Raider.
Without noticing those characters written next to the scenario name, I jumped into the Unique Scenario... the Demon Realm.
Scenario Name
"Invitation from the Rabbit Country"
Recommended Level...... 80.
Author's Afterword
Unique Scenarios are basically flagged by "achieving special conditions," so among high-level... or rather, no-lifer players, it's common to intentionally hide the "special conditions" of Unique Scenarios.
Once exposed, it's a double-edged sword that could make you a target for every player unless you have enough backing to suppress interference.
